Reply with quote | #1 | Hi guys
I have used Poker tracker for cash games a long time (not for MTT), and I am missing some stats. How do you guys interpret the following stats in PH?
1. Went to showdown. I like this stat a lot. It is so important in poker since you will have a great idea of you you can bluff on one hand - and on the other hand which one you can value bet.
I am looking at the external stats to get a picture of how many hand my opponents fold/check or call/raise-bet... But I don't have a single stat saying: This guy will go to showdown 25% for instance. How do you guys do that? Do you also use external stats - and which values do you consider high and low?
2. At temp to steal blinds. I know that this stat is actually in PH. In poker tracker it is calculated as if there is no action to the Cut off or Button and he raises. How is it calculated in PH?
3. When the table is shorthanded either because it is the final or because it is beginning to break - how is the positions and stats working. Example: the game is 4 handed and therefore very aggressive. The person first to act is in cut off but is also early. Which influence does this have on this stats as there is a great chance he will raise will marginal hands?.
-Will he att. to steal a lot? -Will it be intepreted as an insanely loose player in late/or early position next time you meet him at a 10-handed game in the early stages using the active analysis? (since it is seen that he raised with 98o+ or whatever...
4. How to you see how many hands he raises Pre flop? I mean - you can see that he has a VE% of something - but not how many hands he has raised of these. You can look at the level 2 information - but this is only for the current and previous level.... and is this also only for the current session? It does not seem that PH remembers in level 2 how he played the last time.
Phew... that was a lot of questions.. Hope for some feedback. Perhaps it is easier if you break up the question
Thanks

1. Went to showdown. - not in PH, but then again there is no nash calculator etc. in poker tracker. 2. At temp to steal blinds. no action to cutoff, button, and sb
3. When the table is shorthanded either because it is the final or because it is beginning to break - how is the positions and stats working. if auto-switch set stats are sub-categorize at Full, Short, and headsup
4. How to you see how many hands he raises Pre flop? enable and use pop-up.

Reply with quote | #4 | Pokerhound -> I have set the 'MTT to switch to short games automatically' in the options -> operational. Is that what you mean?
What is the definition of short games by the way? 3-6 players?
Sorry that I have not seen the PF raise in the pop up before... Will check that out tomorrow when it is MTT grind again...
zzz_dead -> Are you responding to the question about WTSD? I have used the same style factors I think.
I my opinion I usually see 50-60% fold as equivalent to 20-23% WTSD (bluffing spot). But really that is only my best estimate. I mean: The styles is an overall figure as I recall. How do you adapt that to the later streets respectively?
Both -> Thanks you great and fast answers as always. I do what I can to keep the forum alive

Reply with quote | #5 | short is 6 handed l think on ph.
l look at the style tab which does show later streets for bet, call, check etc % also l click on the river tab to actually look and see what strength hands they have taken to the river, so stations will take top weak and middle pairs to the river.
Also l have noticed stations have a 4/1 4/4 4/6 style rating its hard to get them off a hand unless you go all in on the turn if they call a flop bet. lf you pot bet them just call all in they understand lol. so if l get a read from ph on the flop after the act they are on a draw and the board is draw heavy if the turn does not help their draw l go all in on the turn they get that move lol

Thanks for your feedback. I don't know why I have not used the style tab more. It is really a great help. Especially the BR and win % is very useful to me. Also one can indirectly use the fold tendency on the flop as Cbet analyzer...
Anyway... Since I am still learning the program. I asked earlige about the Pre flop raise% which pokerhound told med was avaliable in the style tabs (which it is).
1. How do you react to 3bets? In the active analysis you can see the hands grouping of which he has done before. Is this overall - or is it for the previous and same level?
2. Also in the style tabs for pockets (or external stats also), there is first action/second action. I just want to make sure that I understood this correctly.
2.1: Raise/Call' - does that mean that the player called a raise with this particular hand when he was an early position.
2.2: Call/none - the player just called a raise? 2.3: Raise call - the player raised initially and called a 3bet? 2.4: How would a 4-bet pockets look like 'Raise/Raise'?
Well guys - again thank you for any feedback. This software is much better than Poker Tracker.

The style tab and other streets tabs are all underused by most l think, they are VERY powerful.
3 bet are you talking about the second line on the hud stats which talks about this blind level and the last ? 3 bet is a reraise of a raised pot or cold call a reraised pot.
raise/call is yes call/none just called yes the L M H will tell you what bet level he called. raise/raise yes JOHN might want to double confirm this but yes l raise you raise me then l come back and raise again so l guess a 4 bet.
Agree PH is the best product on the market bar none.

Reply with quote | #8 | zzeds-> sorry for my typo. I wrote Raise/call 2 times in my question... but I am sure that you 'cracked the code'
Raise call is when you call a 3bet rights?. Just to make sure.
When I talk about 3-bet I try to get an overview of the hand grouping in the active analysis (that is in the hud). But really that is not that accurate. I mean: 1-2 grouping can both be AA and KQs, and when you raise with say AQs, you want to narrow down his ranges.
For this reason I look at the style Pockets tab. As you said it is very powerfull. Here I can see which hands he is 3-betting with. I just want to make sure how it would look like if he had 3-bettet a hand.
So...how does it look like if an opponent has 3-bettet a hand? Raise/raise? Since this is first and second action before the flop....?
Thanks

Agree the active analysis says 1-2 groupings so yes l also like to check the pckts to see the actual hands. Scuba's custom hud always you to do your own groups so you can have a group with just AA KK in it if you want.
raise/raise yes JOHN might want to double confirm this but yes l raise you raise me then l come back and raise again so l guess a 4 bet.
The other think you can do to get a handle on pckts formats, is this, when you see something happen at the table while you are playing check the pckts the NEXT hand and search that hand in the pckts to see what format it took, thats how l got a handle on it back in the day.

Reply with quote | #10 | Hi
I will do as you recommend.. Have tried it before - but has just been too confused of which player that was doing the first and second action...
But yeah.... I will try and take a look at the custom HUD. I think it would be a great help in the future...
Thank so far - and see you on a final table soon
